Faithful to Nature big fish 2019

In August 2019, we received a commission from Faithful to Nature to make a huge fish shaped rubbish bin for use initially at the V&A Waterfront, then to be placed at schools all around Cape Town.

The campaign was to raise awareness about plastic waste in general, but more specifically ocean plastic.

Our member – wire work expert – Richard Mandongwe took on the task of designing and constructing the metal framework of the fish/bin, with the help of a few other members. Richard says: “

Then a broader group of us collected, cleaned and cut multi colour post consumer plastic waste bottles into circle shapes to make the fish’s fin and tail look spectacular.

We welcome this kind of work. To collaborate with major brands so they can achieve their social and environmental scorecards by helping us to continue our work.
