Phumzile Konile

I am Phumzile Konile, the child of Mosedi Keanetse Namane and Mandlenkosi Konile.
I was raised in Mafikeng by my grandmother, Serongoane Namane. Maedile, as she was affectionately called, was an artist at heart. The clothes she made were beautifully tailored and the garden she grew expressed her appreciation for beauty and nature. This way of life ignited my interests in art and the natural environment.
Since 2005, I have been based in Cape Town where I have completed primary and secondary education at Rustenburg Girls’ as well as tertiary education in the Bachelor of Architectural Studies program, at the University of Cape Town. Throughout this journey I have developed an understanding of my passions and purpose on this Earth. Art, in all its expressions, has taught, inspired and healed me. I have had the privilege of being able to engage and create it; from double page spreads of mixed media collages to architectural designs of cultural centres.
This website is a platform whereby I exhibit the artworks I have created. I give thanks to those who have come before me as I have inherited their gifts that guide me in manifesting my dreams.
Our workshop is a beautiful initiative that provides platforms for artists to collaborate and opportunities to futher develop their skills
I am grateful for having been a part of it and I sure will implement the lessons I learnt as move and grow in my career as a creative
