In 2022 we were commissioned to make a large scale (3m x 3m) artwork from plastic waste for the Cape Town Cruise Terminal.

Over about three months, the team from Our Workshop made lots of different wire-frame sculptural forms based on different coral formations. We used heat guns to shrink post-consumer soft plastic waste over the forms and finally used colourful soft plastics to brightly decorate the individual pieces.

In late 2022 we installed the work on a wooden panel at the cruise terminal creating a vibrant , cohesive coral-like installation for visitors arriving at Cape Town’s port to welcome them to our beautiful city.
